Today, October 1, Plutou launches the first AI-native operations platform for textile collection companies, from clothing donation bin networks in the US to textile bank operators across Europe.
Our mission is to change how the world deals with waste, starting with the people who collect it.
Why we built it
Plutou has spent years around collection, in cities, on campuses and in donation networks. We've sat next to dispatchers, ridden in the trucks and talked with hundreds of collectors, and the same morning kept coming up.
A driver calls out, or a truck won't start. A host calls about a bin that overflowed over the weekend, and that call is the first anyone in the office has heard of it. The locations live in a spreadsheet, the driver updates are buried in a group text, and at the end of the day someone sits down and puts it all back together by hand.
They get it done anyway. Collection operators keep clothes out of landfills and cities clean, and they've done it with tools that were never built for them.
What we built
Plutou puts the whole operation in one system:
- Route planning: routes across every location, driver and truck, adjusted when a driver or a truck is out.
- Location management: every location's details in one place, not a spreadsheet tab.
- Driver app: crews finish stops on their phone with a photo, so the office sees what happened without anyone typing it in again.
Operators using Plutou run 25% fewer routes and drive 13% fewer miles while collecting the same material. The part we care about most is the team behind those numbers: dispatchers who stop rebuilding tomorrow every evening, and drivers who spend the day on stops that need them.
